As my final project comes to an end I am excited to have a finished (and cute) final project but wondering if sewing is for me? Did I enjoy the learning process? Yes of course! It will be fun to have a skill that I will be able to teach my daughter. Am I planning on running out and buying a sewing machine? Probably not. With that said, I will use my new skill and repair some project that have been lying around the house....but this will have to wait until this summer. I am far to busy to work on projects, in fact right now I'm a bit too busy to wash a load of laundry, to be honest. One aspect of this project that surprised me was, the cost. Although the skirt is clearly a higher quality than what I usually purchase in the store for my daughter, it cost me far more than taking my daughter to Target.
The most challenging aspect of this project was reading the pattern. This surprised me since the package clearly reads "easy". Although I searched online resources, the fact was that I struggled reading the exact pattern for this project and Tiffany and Joann's was far more of an effective resource than any of the online resources I found and reviewed.
Was it fun! Yes absolutely and my daughter is already planning on her first project she wants to use the first fabric that I purchased (the chevron that was the wrong material for the skirt) and make pillows). It is this reason why I am so happy I choose sewing as my 20% project, now my daughter and I have one more fun project that we can do together!! I am so happy that I choose this project, I enjoyed learning how to sew, in fact that was the easy part,
