Above is what came out of my patter that I purchased to make my daughter's skirt! Oh my. Did I get in over my head?
Based on what seemed like an hour looking through the patterns, directions and back to the patterns and directions I think I narrowed in on what part of the pattern Cate's skirt is coming from...so now what do I do???
After a frantic text to Tiffany she told me to iron the "Thor" (like I know what that means) but be careful not to rip it before I cut out the pattern. Yeah right, this should be interesting! Above is the final somewhat ironed product. One thing I learned from this process so far. I need new scissors (my 9 year old already informed me of this the first week I started the project) before I do any more cutting!
Sewing has it's own language, what exactly does center front/center back mean? And fold? Fold what? After yet another frantic text to Tiffany she told me, "the fold is the fold in your fabric for cutting." Love you Tiffany but that makes no sense to me!! :)
So I've made progress and now I need to search out how to read this pattern or "Thor". I'm on the hunt for YouTube videos that I can watch and use as a model.
...and I need to make another trip to Joanne's for new scissors! Stay tuned as my sewing journey continues. Tara
